Scott and Jane Swenson retire from Cornerstone Bank Board

After a combined 95 years of service, Scott and Jane Swenson are retiring from their positions as board members of Cornerstone Bank. They will continue to serve as board members of Cornerstone Holding Company, the parent company of Cornerstone Bank.

Jane reflected, “We sincerely thank the members of the Cornerstone team for their commitment and their daily efforts to uphold our mission. We are a bit sad to leave but feel so positive and secure about the future for Cornerstone Bank.”

Joining the Cornerstone Bank Board are Lindsay Ginter and Vaune Johnson.

Cornerstone Chairman Gary Petersen said, “Lindsay and Vaune both bring valuable expertise to help guide our organization as we continue to grow and provide accessible financial expertise.”

Lindsay Ginter has spent her career in the insurance and financial services industries, with roles in both sales and operations. She has served as a leader in a variety of organizations, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. In 2023, she transitioned to self-employment. Lindsay has a passion for bringing a company’s vision to life, and ensuring the value proposition resonates in each aspect of the workforce.

Currently, she volunteers as a career mentor for female college students in the Offutt School of Business at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN and a business mentor for high school students in the Minnetonka School District. Previously, Lindsay served in a Council role for Children’s Hospitals & Clinics of Minnesota, advocating for next-generation funding and outreach strategies for pediatric cancer.

Originally from Watford City, ND, Lindsay holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. She lives in Eden Prairie, MN, with her husband and two sons.

Vaune Johnson began her professional career in accounting prior to becoming a banker. In 2014, Vaune joined Cornerstone Bank as Market President of the Dickinson location. She led the market through becoming a full-service bank location, opening a new building, growing the team, and helping more people make important decisions about their money. In 2022, Vaune transitioned into an Executive Vice President role working on special projects for the bank. Upon her retirement in November 2023, she began consulting with non-profits and increased her time spent volunteering.

Vaune obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Dickinson State University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Mary. She also attended the Graduate School of Banking. She has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1993. Vaune was the first female elected to Chair the North Dakota Bankers Association.

Currently, Vaune serves as a board member for The Heartview Foundation, North Dakota Professional Health Program, Employer Support of Guard and Reserve, and is on the selection committee for the President of Dickinson State University. Vaune and her husband live in Dickinson, ND.
